Thank you for choosing to learn more about the AMS Ed Study Club brought to you by AmericaSmiles. The best way to help you understand how the AMS Ed Study Club can gain more exposure to your specialty practice and gain more referrals from referring GP’s near your office, I’ll simply explain how AmericaSmiles has been helping dental labs throughout the nation to gain new dentists through our various marketing programs.
For over 20 years we have been helping dental labs grow their businesses by gaining new General Dentist clients. Our newest method is to use CE education as a loss leader to make contact with GP’s. As I said in the letter, we learned that dentists really only have two ways to seek continuing education credits and each method comes with its own flaws and limitations. As you will learn, AmericaSmiles has introduced a new and exciting way for dentists to earn high-quality CE credits and courses and it’s always free to the dentist.
I’m sure you will agree that the following is how most dentists earn their CE.
- High-quality courses presented by nationally recognized speakers usually require travel expenses and course expenses. Even premium-quality online courses can be rather costly.
- Dentists have always had the option to attend local study clubs that are usually free or come with just enough cost to cover lunch or dinner. Unfortunately, these courses are usually performed by manufacturer's sales reps who are acting as pseudo lecturers.
Bridging the Gap with AMS Ed
Here is how we bridged the gap and simultaneously generated referral leads on behalf of the local dental laboratory.
Each month, AmericaSmiles brings a nationally recognized guest speaker to our AmericaSmiles broadcast studio. Guest speakers and their subject matter is approved by Dr. Gary DeWood, the former director of curriculum at the Frank Spear Education Center. Dr. Gary DeWood is now the acting director of curriculum for AMS Ed and the AmericaSmiles Study Club.
On the first Friday of each month, AMS Ed broadcasts a live presentation that provides CE Credits for all registered GP’s. We also have an AMS Ed replay event on the 3rd Friday of each month that retains the original speaker for a live Q&A session. Again, all attending dentists earn CE for watching the “rewind” event. AMS Ed & GP Marketing
So how do dentists learn about the AmericaSmiles Study Club? The answer to this question is how we promote the local dental laboratory to gain new referring GP’s to their dental lab. When a lab chooses to sponsor the AMS Study Club, we select the nearest 100 GP’s to that laboratory. Each month we send a mailer to each dentist inviting them to register for the upcoming seminar event.
In addition to the mailer, each month we call 1/3 of the GP’s on that mailing list and set up a lunch date for the lab owner to come out an meet with the GP. With our 10% success rate, this means we usually schedule about 3 meetings per month for the lab owner to meet with a prospective dentist. At this meeting, the lab owner explains that these premium quality CE courses are made free to the dentist due to the dental lab ownerships sponsored of the AMS Study Club. This meeting also allows the lab to present its laboratory services to the dentist in the hopes of gaining a new customer to send laboratory services to the lab.

Although all dentists can watch the CE programs virtually from the privacy of their own dental offices, some lab owners have established local study club venues at restaurants or other facilities and have a multitude of dentists watch the CE event simultaneously.
Our offer to your specialty practice is this:
Sponsor Level 1 - $150 per month
You can become a co-sponsor with this dental laboratory which means we add your practice name as a co-sponsor on the already existing postcard that we made for the dental lab so that every dentist can see your practice name on every mailer. Additionally, when the dentist registers for the event they see your practice name as a co-sponsor and they see your name on the day of the live event and they see your name again when they receive their CE credits.
Sponsor Level 2 - $350 per month
This includes postcards showing your specialty practice as the main sponsor of the AMS Study Club program. These postcards are delivered to the 100 nearest GP's to your lab. We call one-third of your sponsoring dentists each and every month to arrange a meeting between you and your prospective referring GP. Again in this instance, the GP sees your practice name on the postcard, on the event registry site, sees it again on the day of the event, and sees it again when the dentist receives his CE.
You play a role in selecting the specific dentists that we send postcards too and we allow you to invite all of your existing referring dentists to attend these free CE courses as an expression of your appreciation for referring patients to your specialty practice.
